Still here. Soon there.

October 14th, 2021

We are still here. Still in our house. Still in Minnesota. Still Minnesota residents. Still working hard on getting our house ready to sell. More anxious than ever to get the road underneath us with our new home in tow.

And we still have reservations for an event in Georgia in early November. Still planning to swing through South Dakota first to switch our residency to that state. Still making more plans, including Quartzite in February. More excited than ever to dive into our new life as full-time RVers.

To help us prepare our RV and move in we have occasionally pulled our fifth-wheel out of storage and stayed at local campgrounds for a few days. This also gave us a chance to introduce our pets to their new abode. Unfortunately local campgrounds are beginning to close for the season.

A delightful event allowed us a pause for a few days. We flew to Alaska for our daughter’s wedding. It was an outdoor wedding in a snowstorm and it was beautiful with autumnal gold serving as a background for the fresh white blanket.

The snow in Alaska served as a reminder of the other deadline we face in Minnesota, the weather. Every leaf that falls and every bird that heads south are further reminders. Fortunately it has been a relatively warm October so far but that will change. And we’re hoping to avoid winterizing the camper.

Amidst all the clamor of preparing for our new adventure, our new life, it is the Why that keeps us pressing on. There is a world to be seen and a life to be experienced. We are still here, but soon, very soon, we will be there.
